Im Februar veröffentlichte die britische Ausnahmeformation Coldplay das cineastische Musikvideo zu ihrer aktuellen Single “Let Somebody Go” mit Selena Gomez, die neben einem Remix von Kygo kürzlich auch in einer neuen Piano Version erschien. Aktuell befindet sich die Band auf großangelegter “Music Of The Spheres”-Welttournee und spielte am vergangenen Freitag ihre allererste Show in Costa Rica.
Pünktlich zum Auftakt der Stadiontournee enthüllten die Briten das brandneue, dystopische Musikvideo zum Album-Track “People Of The Pride”, das auch lyrisch überzeugt: “There’s a turning of the tide / We’re no longer gonna fight for / Some old crook and all his crimes / There’s a sewing up of rags / Into revolution flags / Got to stand up to be counted / Be an anthem for your times”, singt Frontmann Chris Martin darin und trifft damit den Nerv der Zeit. “A lot of it came from the Black Lives Matter and Gay Pride marches where people [were] using their voice to say, ‘This situation is ridiculous’”, kommentierte er gegenüber NME.
